HOMEMADE TABLESAW

I bought a power circular saw, but it is too difficult to saw straight perfectly nor in actual size.

First, I tried to make a rail sliding saw, as shown in the photo below, you slide the circular saw on the rail to cut the board under the rail. However it takes too much time to set this unit on the working bench moreover perfect straight and accurate size is not available. Soon I gave up to use this unit.

After that, I tried to make very simple table saw and revised several times to make the satisfactory one I have now.

In my case, I built the table saw in the workbench to save the space. My shop has no space to put the workbench and table saw. It doesn't take time to lift up the saw blade and set the fence. I am much satisfied now. I feel thanks a lot to the people overseas who gave me motivation and hints of this project.

This is not a table saw, but sliding miter saw as explained above. But it is far from satisfaction, then I do not use it now.

Another view of above sliding saw. If you have enough space to set this unit, it would be useable, I think.

Main saw unit housing. I made some templates of cardboard to fit the plywood to shape for proper shape.

Blade lifting and tilting mechanism. First I was afraid if such wooden mechanism can sustain the high vibration of blade rotation. However, the same mechanism of original power circular saw is made of very cheep looking thin plate. This wooden mechanism is more rigid I trust.

View under the top plate of workbench where table saw is installed. Usually this unit is surrounded cloth curtain to prevent sawdust fly out.
