HOMEMADE DESK BAND SAW
Now I have a floor type band saw, but sometimes I wish to make small items. Therefore I built small desk top band saw. To tell the truth, I built it for fun.
The machine must be small to put on the workbench to use at anytime, therefore I designed wheel size 150mm in diameter, but wanted deep cut area, 300mm or more. Then I designed 3 wheels type, which was only choice.
This design has some difficulty, i.e. wheel alignment is very severe, but I succeeded. At first the motor was of junk cleaning machine. But running speed is too fast more over I cannot control motor speed. Therefore I replaced the motor with old power drill. I had to reverse running direction, but it is easy. Only by changing internal electric connection of the drill motor. And I made the speed controller of triac (electronics component).
