HOMEMADE BENCH VISE

I found some interesting video where making a bench vise is introduced. I decided at once this wooden bench vise. I use a 4" vise, but for wood material processing, this metal vise is not so good. Anyway I felt fun.

In this video, a big bolt "jack base" is used as main screw. However this jack base is too large for my use. So, I used a thick bolt stocked in the junk box. Diameter is 19mm and length is about 300mm.

The completed bench vise is as shown in the photos approx. 400mm long and 150mm wide. Material are all scrap wood. Assembled by glueing, finished by clear polyurethane coat. It is useful also good looking.

Followings are the photos.

To get image, I sketched roughly. Yes, it's nice!
