Questions for VL variable inductors

Q1 : Who the maker of these variable inductors is?

A1 : Tamura Corporation produces VL series.
VL series were for old video cameras.
Sakuma is the first and only one person who uses them on his amplifiers.
I don't rcommend you to mount them on your RIAA unit.
Sakuma's RIAA circuit design is not meet the RIAA standard.
VL may work only on Sakuma design.

Q1 :How can I buy Tamura VL-208 chokes?

A2: Tamura is not accept a dierct order from you.
You can buy VL-208 from Sun Audio : a distoributer of Tamura.
They sell almost parts on Sakuma amplifiers.
You can buy Tamura, cables, resistors, tubes, capacitors and so on through the VISA payment sytem from Sun Audio.
They are busy in their business, so you may need to be patient to received their reply for your mail.
I'd ask you again. Don't send your mail to Tamura. They are a huge company.
If audiophiles and audio shops trouble their business, it is very easy for Tamua to abolish their audio section.

Q1 : What is the inductance value that one must adjust the VL-208 to?

A3 : VL-208 must be adjusted to the minimum inductance of it.
You can't use VL seriese in other inductance for audio.
To get the minimum inductance, screw the adjust screw on anticlockwise.

Type Minimum Maximum Resistance Max current
VL-208 1.1H 11.0H 350 ohm 7 mA
VL-209 3.0H 30H 900 ohm 5 mA
VL-212 50H 500H 12000 ohm 1.5 mA

All VL has same size 28mm(W) * 20mm(D) * 32mm(H)
